Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use DenAdvisor: customers leaving feedback or using a loyalty card, and the owners and teams who run a business with it. That includes people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, voice control or larger text.

The standard we work towards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across our website, the customer feedback and reply pages, the business dashboard, and the DenAdvisor apps for iOS and Android. We are not there everywhere yet; the known gaps are listed below.

What we have done

• Keyboard use: everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, a “Skip to content” link, and menus and dialogs that keep focus where you expect.
• Screen readers: buttons, fields, star ratings, tabs and switches have names and say their state; errors and messages are announced; each page has its own title, a main region and a clear heading structure.
• Contrast: text, field borders and buttons meet the WCAG contrast ratios, including buttons shown in a business’s own brand colour, which we adjust automatically when needed.
• Text resizing and zoom: pages reflow at 400% zoom and on small phones without sideways scrolling, and the apps follow your device’s text size.
• Reduced motion: if you ask your device to reduce motion, we turn off animations.
• Focus management: when you move to a new page in the dashboard, focus moves to the new page’s heading, and messages stay on screen until you have had time to read them.
• Emails: reward codes are printed in large text as well as in a QR code, and our emails use readable colours and headings.

Known limitations

These are the barriers we know about and are working on:

• Mobile apps: we have tested the apps with automated accessibility checks but not yet on every device with VoiceOver and TalkBack. On iPhone, screens still slide in when Reduce Motion is on, as iOS’s own apps do, and a few small badges shrink their text rather than grow at the very largest text sizes.
• Charts: the small bar charts on the business dashboard’s Insights pages show each number as text, but not yet as a table, and in the weekly reviews chart the bar colour (the average rating that week) is not yet repeated in words.
• Screen reader coverage: we have not yet tested every dashboard screen with every screen reader and browser combination.
• Older help and blog content: a few older articles may still have images or headings that we have not reviewed.
• Content we don’t control: card payments use Stripe’s payment form, and public reviews are left on Google and other review sites. Their accessibility is up to those companies.

If you need information from DenAdvisor in a different format, such as plain text or large print, just ask and we will do our best to provide it.

How we test

• Automated accessibility checks (axe) run in our test suite on key pages, including sign-in, sign-up, the customer review page and this page.
• Manual testing with a keyboard only, and with screen readers.
• Periodic reviews of the website, dashboard, apps and emails against WCAG 2.2 AA, with fixes tracked and this page updated.
